Screen Printing Afternoon
Last weekend, Joe and I went up to Coffee Creek to help my parents move into their new home. We stopped several times along the route home so I could take digital pictures. I set my camera for black and white images and when I got home, manipulated some of them on Photoshop, resulting in clean black and white images. This afternoon, I finally found some time to get into the studio to make the screens, and print them onto some hand dyed fabrics. Here are some of the images of cottonwood trees growing along the Musselshell River in the tiny town of Barber, Montana.

ReplyDeleteTree tops are always so graphic--this particular screen is quite nice. I wonder what would happen if you paired print colors with the base fabric? The blue piece seems a bit too contrasty--but the mustardy-brown one is very effective. Of course it's hard to really 'see' through the computer screen.
Your hand-dyed collages are nice in themselves--but I'm eager to see what you print on top--and then re-construct.

I love these... I'm into trees at the moment, in fact I just went for a quick walk to take photos of lots of them around our house, with all their bare branches.
