I have been following your work through Planet Textile Threads. I think the stamping work has been amazing in how you have taken a background and developed it. I think I want to have a go with that myself! anyway. The way you developed this piece is so impressive. When I first saw the piece when it was screen printed, it didn't seem like much and now it is something I would like to stand in front of! :) For me I guess the choice for the blue strip comes down to what you want to say with it. The first one stands out with the blue strip giving a real visual tension. You can almost not look away from it. It would draw someone from across the room. The second one is much more calming in its mood - giving equal statement to the other two pieces and letting the tension in the 'scribble' come forward. finally, the third one gives some of the eye catching visual tension while still allowing your eye to wander to the other two parts.
or that's how I see it! Hope this helps. Sandy in the UK
I like the 3rd one the best. Although it is hard to get colours exactly right on any computer, I like the colour transitions in the last one.

I'm torn between the first and third. I like that the pattern shows up on the navy band. Is the white too high contrast, not sure.
ReplyDeleteI think the third one.
