The Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona (about 40 miles west of Tucson) was a really interesting place to visit. This observatory has many buildings and telescopes in various sizes. A few of them allow visitors. We drove up to the top of the mountain on a good paved road.
We were able to view the sun through this telescope. We happened to visit during a time when sun spots were visible.
