Starting to Sew

I am really not sure what I want to do here.  I am hoping to make a very expansive panel of jean parts and pieces.  I started out trying to just cut out squares - and decided on 13" squares so I could have a 1/2" seam allowance.  But then, I thought I should really try to incorporate the pockets.  So, I cut and sewed a bit and put these up on the design wall.  Looking at this - I am finding the pockets the most appealing part - so I need to sew all the pockets into the panels.  At least as much as possible.
