I know it is kind of crazy, but although I have heard them many times - I had never seen a cicada before! They were all over the place when we visited Meyers Creek.
Grandson Airus found their exoskeletons clinging to blades of grass, and they were all along the trial during our hike.
The cicadas seemed especially fond of the aspen trees.
