Most of the printing blocks I design are stand alone designs, which I combine to make an interesting design or pattern across the textile surface. I am interested in creating designs that create a new design when they are combined. This stylized feather is something I can imagine creating an interesting pattern in a group of four.
For a first run, I have sewn together two long narrow pieces of hand dyed orange/pink fabric. Then, I have put masking tape around the four edges to create a border. I decide to print the entire thing in black in order to create a very graphic image.
Here it is with the masking tape still in place after the printing.

WOW! Another new direction. Very cool.
Great block - I love the pattern it creates.
This is a very exciting printed piece! Beautiful pattern.
Virginia said just what I was going to say--WOW! I love it--It looks so stunning in black...
Gorgeous!!! I love the secondary patterns that appear.
See... I look at this fabric, and love the color, love the design, and think: what could you make of the fabric that you could wear? Or maybe pillow covers... I just love op art, and I'm sure there is a way you can use the fabric to show off your wonderful stamp!
