I've been using my Janome 6500 to free motion zig zag the edges of the collage together before adding the printing. Now my machine is on the blink. I called to schedule a repair, but they can't get to my machine for several weeks.
Yes, I know I could be fusing everything, but I don't want the expense or trouble of putting fusible web on the back of all my fabrics. My 200 yard roll of Mistyfuse is dwindling and I don't want to replace it right now.
Soooooo . . . I have decided to work instead with the printed surface on whole cloth quilts for a while and see how that goes. As a starting point, I am returning to this painted whole cloth piece that I started working on last year and set aside.
I am really in love with this horizon line where the ground paint meets the sky paint. I've been hesitant to add block printing - for fear it would be ruined, but I forge ahead with my plan. Stay tuned.
