Picket Pin Road

On our way home from the Meyers Creek Cabin, we took a drive up the Picket Pin Road. This is a 4 x 4 road, but our Honda Pilot often manages these roads if we put it in low gear.

This was the end of the line for us this day. The snowbank blocked the road, so we had to turn back. We only made it about 10 miles up the road. We had hoped to reach the lakes on the other side of the ridge, but it didn't happen.

Anyway, the views were great, and we have now explored a part of the Beartooth mountains we had never visited before.

Was up there Sunday Aug 7, 2011. Did not have the blue skies you did! Thunder, lightning, hail, rain. Still got some nice photos. Saw a family of turkeys - Mom, dad, & (4) little fluff balls.

The other ATV'ers will never see that wildlife. Why go so fast???? What's the big hurry???

Thanks for the pics. Enjoy your other ones from the area as well!
