Colorful Mexican Pottery!

We love shopping for colorful glass, pottery and rugs in Mexico (above).  This year, I decided to bring back a variety of small plates (7" diameter) in every pattern I could find.  I found nine different designs, shown here (below), but I purchased a dozen, so there are some duplicates.  I think they will be fun to use for appetizers or for desserts.

I love Mexican pottery! This looks like a very festive 9-patch!

I have a six sided one (hexagon) one of that size I bought while in Acapulco many years ago - found upon a similar multi-shelf rack so this brought back pleasant memories. I know I chose it because of the unusual shape and put it into service corraling the salt & pepper shakers & sugar bowl on the diningroom table. I like the idea of using yours for appetizers.

Test them for lead in the glaze. If they have lead, don't store any acid foods on them. Should be alright for occasional use.
