Beartooth Mountains - Backpacking to Jasper Lake

Along the Trail
We had a mid morning departure from the Island Lake Trailhead. This is a favorite of mine because the trail is not especially steep.
We happened to meet a father and son along the way who wanted their picture taken, so they took some of us!

We had to stop to filter some drinking water.
We walked beneath this rock formation the full mile from Becker to Albino Lakes.

This expanse of bluebells made a lovely foreground for Becker Lake with Lonesome Mountain in the background. This is about halfway into the hike. Our destination - Jasper Lake - lies on the opposite side of Lonesome Mountain.
