Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Joe and I have been talking about snowbirding......He feels like he would like to spend the winter somewhere a bit sunnier, so we decided to take an extended road trip - exploring some of the communities in Arizona as possible locations for future wintering. We had heard good things about Lake Havasu City, and we spent part of a day exploring the area.
We enjoyed this area. We like the landscape. Lake Havasu City is a town of 50,000 and is primarily a retirement community (or so it appears based on our time there). It is a rather new town that has built up around the London Bridge that was bought by a businessman who had it installed here. It seems like there is a lot of public land nearby that would be good for outdoor recreation. We like it that both water and mountains are part of the landscape here.
