Timberline Trailhead

Much of the West Fork Rock Creek Valley burned in a wildfire a couple of years ago.
Driving up the valley was a bit daunting.
The trailhead was a bit daunting, as well. We had no idea how far we would be hiking in burned forest. Our plan was to hike to Timberline Lake, 4 1/2 miles in.

We were happy to see quite a lot of wildflowers blooming. This really brightened up the scene.

Amazing... we just had a huge fire on the San Francisco Peaks in June, and I'm hoping the new growth will start soon. Your photos give me hope!
